The Eternal Light (try-out)
An intimate installation performance about life, death, and the longing for peace
The Eternal Light is a visual and spatial performance about saying goodbye – to life, to each other, to what we once called our anchor. Inspired by the centuries-old Requiem tradition, the performance explores how we deal with loss, guilt, and the silence that remains after a suicide.
The house forms the starting point: a safe haven, but also an enclosed space filled with memories and questions. From there unfolds a search for what happens when someone decides not to stay any longer. What does that mean for those who remain? And how do we rediscover light in the darkness?
Music, light, and space blend into a sensory experience in which the audience literally stands at the heart of the work. You stand on stage, surrounded by a house-like installation that breathes, moves, and falls still.
The Eternal Light lasts about 50 minutes and is experienced in small groups. A subdued, comforting performance about vulnerability, farewell, and the hope that—somewhere—there is always a glimmer of light that continues to shine.
Note: This performance deals with themes related to suicide and may be emotionally confronting.
